Affil-E-ation.com - The free, step-by-step guide that shows you how to put the power of affiliate marketing to work for you and blow your sales through the roof!

Build Your Affiliate Page

Since you're trying to get affiliates interested in your program, write the copy on your 'Affiliate' page like a sale letter and 'sell' it to them.

So you don't make the same mistakes other sellers do, I'm going to tell you how to build the kind of 'Affiliate' page affiliates want.

Lots of happy affiliates means more money for you!  Wink

Like I said before, before I join any affiliate program, I want details:

Gold bullet
How much do I get?

Gold bullet
How often do I get paid?

Gold bullet
Who runs your affiliate program?  Who pays me?

Gold bullet
How do I get paid?

Gold bullet
Is there a minimum I have to reach before I get paid?

Gold bullet
Do you reward super affiliates?

Gold bullet
Do you offer lifetime commissions?

Gold bullet
When do the cookies expire?

Gold bullet
If I bring you more affiliates, will you reward me for that?

Gold bullet Can I contact you?

Gold bullet Do you support your affiliates?

Give affiliates all the details about your affiliate program they want [look on your affiliate network's site for the things you're not sure about].  Answer as many of those questions as you can on your 'Affiliate' page, and if, for example, you can't offer lifetime commissions, just don't mention it.

If you're using Clickbank, for example, you could say something like:

Join Our Affiliate Program & Earn 50% on Every Sale!*

Use this link

http://XXXXX.123SELL.hop.clickbank.net/

(just replace XXXXX with your Clickbank ID) and start earning big money today!

Not a member of Clickbank yet?  Click here to join and start making money in minutes.

Get a check mailed to you every two weeks like clockwork or sign up for direct deposit and get paid every week!

* Minus Clickbank's fees.  Click here for more info.

That's good enough for most sellers.

And just in case they were not yet a member of Clickbank or if they were new to becoming an affiliate, they'd want more info so you'd include this link to Clickbank's affiliate info page:

http://www.clickbank.com/promote_products.html

No matter what service you're using, always include a way to join if they're not already a member.

Next, collect your affiliate's name, ID & email address.

As an affiliate, I hate it when...

...I click on a link to go to a seller's ‘Affiliate’ page and I land on a squeeze page and I have to fill in my name and email address [which they will use to send me emails trying to sell me other people's products] before they’ll let me see their real ‘Affiliate’ page and when I finally do get there, there’s nothing there for me to use.  <grrrrr>

Now, I'd rather hit my 'Back' button and go somewhere else than waste my time.

Instead of forcing it out of them, bribery is a better way to get them to cough it up:

Super Affiliates Earn an Extra 10%!

If you bring in over X sales in a month, you'll get an extra 10% on top of your XX% commission!

But you have to enter your info below to qualify:

Name:

Email:

Affiliate ID:

Set your form up so that it sends the info to your autoresponder.  That way, you'll know who your super affiliates are so you can reward them, and you'll also be able to email all of your affiliates any time you want.

Don't let them forget about you!  Try to email them at least once a month.

Next, put the tools you created for affiliates to use on your page.  Think about your product.  What could they use to send hungry, credit-card-in-hand traffic to your site?  Details, images, graphic ads, etc.

If you’re willing to let affiliates contact you, say so and give them a way to do so.

Beware of SPAM Robots
There are nasty little robots that snoop through websites looking for email addresses and then sends junk email to them.  If you don't want to get buried in spam, you could use an image for the 'at' sign like this:

at sign image

instead of the '@' character and type your email address around it as in:

your_email at sign image YourSite.com

and that'll cut down on a lot of it, but some smart robots will figure it out.  The best thing to do is to use a contact form on your site.

Don't forget about newbies, like your current customers, who decide to become your affiliate.  Explain how it works or provide links to free resources to help newbies get started.  One good one is:

If you created a separate page for your Affiliate Agreement, include a link to it.

Below are those good examples of 'Affiliate' pages I mentioned before. Look through them to see if there's anything else you do to make your page better:

AutomatedCashFormula.com/affiliates.htm

AutomatedMillions.com/affiliates.htm

TheMillionaireLeague.com/affiliates/index.html

And here are links to the affiliate pages of big, non-Clickbank sites:

ChecksUnlimited's

Netflix's

Travelocity's

Once you finish building your 'Affiliates' page, upload it to your site and test it to make sure it works the way it should.  Go through it as if you're an affiliate signing up – does it work properly?

As soon as you're ready for affiliates, add a link to your 'Affiliates' page on your main (index) page and upload it, then test it to make sure it works properly.

As soon as you're ready to go, it's time to let affiliates know you exist.
